Financing a Startup
Flywheel Coworking is pleased to offer “Financing a Startup” featuring Flywheel Co-Founder Peter Marsh, Launch Greensboro Director Lou Anne Flanders-Stec and Jon Spinney, CEO and CoFounder of Malartu, a North Carolina based business intelligence/analytics platform.
This course will provide an overview of what every founder needs to know about financing options, setting financial milestones and attracting investor capital. Learn how to get your startup investor-ready and what investors expect at seed and later stages of development. This course is a continuation of the popular “How to Start a Startup” series.
Class Format and Schedule
The instructor led course is 6 weeks in duration. The instructor led classes will be offered at both the Winston-Salem and Davidson locations. The courses at both locations are on Monday nights from 5:30 – 7:30 PM each week. The first hour of the instructor led class will include lecture and review of course materials. The second hour will be optional one on one assistance on student projects.
Spring Semester Class
The Spring 2020 instructor led session will begin on March 16, 2020 and end on April 27, 2020. There will be no class on April 13th. Online classes are available anytime.
The Summer 2020 instructor led session will begin on June 15, 2020 and end on July 13, 2020. There will be no class on July 4th. Online classes are available anytime.
Lou Anne Flanders-Stec
Lou Anne Flanders-Stec is the EVP of Entrepreneurship at Launch Greensboro providing training, education, mentorship, space, and capital for local entrepreneurs. She has worked with entrepreneurs in non-profits, private business and academia. Lou Anne has developed programming and services to support entrepreneurs or has assisted with funding.
Peter is a founding Member of Flywheel Coworking, a coworking innovation space for entrepreneurs and start-ups. Flywheel's locations are in downtown Winston-Salem, NC in the heart of the Wake Forest Innovation Quarter and at Davidson College.
Jon is a CoFounder of the North Carolina based business intelligence/analytics platform called Malartu, Irish for "Exchange". With a strong background in small business and a passion for finance, Jon offers unique insight into the needs and plans of a venture considering outside funding.
